Tobin's President's Day Pictures

Post by Tobin » Thu Feb 25, 2010 8:54 pm

Day 1, Thursday: Poison Springs Rd - Landon and I left Thursday afternoon so we could do a trail on the way down. After we finished up and were pulling back onto the highway, Mark, with his perfect timing, pulled right in between Landon and I. Image

Day 2, Friday: Smith's Fork South Ticaboo Mesa, then Old Burr Trail up Hansen Creek

Day 3, Saturday: New Burr Trail, Grand Gulch of Halls Creek, we then visited the "town" of Eggnog and later some of us Image got stuck in the clay up Bullfrog Creek - I was following Landon when our vehicles started really slowing down even though I for one had my foot to the floor. I turned the switch to engage the front and rear lockers and let the mud terrains do the rest. I past Landon a little ways as he attempted to turn around. After noticing that the clay didn't stop and nobody was following, I went back to the group when Landon decided he wasn't getting out without some help. With a strap hooked up to my D-ring, I went back out and brought Landon back to solid ground. What a fun, proud moment.

Day 4, Sunday: Ticaboo Mesa, Tapestry Wall, East side of Smith's Fork, 7 Mile Creek

Day 5, Monday: Cleaned houseboat, I mostly chased Gage around however. Most of the group drove back and forth through the deep water on the boat loading ramp in an attempt to clean as much of the mud and clay off of the wheels and undercarriage as possible. Most everyone had wheel vibrations from the trails. We then headed for home.

Here are some of the Tobin Gardner family photos and short video clips:

Poison Springs Road. We decided to turn around at the river in order to arrive at the boat at a reasonable hour.

Proof Gage had fun.

Proof that I had fun. This is right after we got done playing in the clay.

Grandma and Xander. (We don't use the word "Great" because that make would make them old. I don't want that.)

Not a great picture, I just didn't get very many shots of some of the rigs unfortunately. This is Julia's sweet Toyota Tacoma on 35" Pro Comp mud terrains.
